Convents, monasteries, the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Natural Park
60 kilometers from the Excelsior, a natural park with ancient suggestions.
Frontino, the smallest town in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, is entirely incorporated into the Natural Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello, full of
beautiful panoramic views and dominated by the imposing profile of Monte Carpegna.
The pride of the town is the convent Montefiorentinofrom the thirteenth-century, one of the largest in the Marche that according to tradition was founded by San Francesco.
The convent includes a small cloister and houses the Renaissance Cappella dei Conti Oliva, with a splendid altarpiece by Giovanni Santi, father of Raphael.
The monastery of San Girolamo is also a suggestive place, surrounded as it is by centuries-old oaks and an ethereal peace.
Recently restored, today it is used as a period residence, consisting of a church, convent and a service annex.
